The mission of the U.S. Junior Steer Wrestling Championship is to shine the spotlight on exceptional steer wrestling talent among young men under the age of 19. We invite the top steer wrestling contestants in the world to compete to be crowned Champion.
 

We aim to bring rodeo to people to witness the intense battles of strength, agility, and determination as talented cowboys compete for the U.S. Junior Steer Wrestling Championship title, and at the same time, provide a platform for young talent to improve in their sport and earn points toward the Junior World Finals.

The Leon Bauerle Cowboy Reunion Breakfast is a special element of the U.S. Junior Steer Wrestling Championship. Cowboys of the past, the present, and the future are invited to join us to reunite and support the junior steer wrestling contestants. The Leon Baurle Cowboy Reunion provides an opportunity for fellowship, storytelling, and an opportunity for the entire rodeo community to join together and pay tribute to the legendary cowboys who have left us, such as Leon Bauerle. Leon Bauerle, a 7-time qualifier for the National Finals Rodeo, who was a legendary Steer Wrestler, and a cherished friend and mentor to generations of aspiring cowboys, both inside and outside of the arena.
